There’s more to Indian wear.
Ask a man to picture Indian wear and he pictures a kurta. Maybe a Nehru jacket, if there is a wedding coming. That is the whole map. We think a country with this much design in it deserves a bigger one.
01 / The problem
Indian menswear got stuck on repeat
Not because men stopped caring. Because the category stopped moving. The same few silhouettes, sold for the same few occasions, in the same few colours.
So Indian clothing became something a man owns rather than something he wears. Two outfits at the back of the wardrobe, out for a wedding, away for eleven months.
Meanwhile women have had an entire world to move through. Colours, cuts, occasions, moods. Men got a shortlist. That is a strange way to treat a country with this much design in it.
02 / The origin
We started abroad. Now we have come home.
Desiqlo began at desiqlo.com, shipping Indian wear to people who had moved away from it. London, Dubai, Toronto, Sydney. Building it taught us something we did not expect. The complaint was never availability. It was range.
Everyone was asking the same question in a different accent. Is this really all there is? That question is loudest in India, where the choice should be widest and somehow is not.
So we built desiqlo.in. India only, menswear only, delivered to your door in 5 to 7 days.
03 / The team
Built by people who kept running into the problem
Desiqlo was founded by women who have lived between two worlds. Grown up in India, worked across continents, built careers inside large multinational organisations, and stayed close to Indian culture the entire time.
They love Indian fashion. They just did not love what it asked of you. Two hours of preparation for a dinner. A wardrobe that only worked in December. A category that had somehow decided men needed less of it than women.
So they built the thing they wanted to shop from. That is the whole origin story. No grand plan, just a persistent irritation and enough industry experience to do something about it.

04 / The makers
Fashion does not only begin in Paris
It also begins in a workshop in Jaipur, a block printing unit in Kutch, a studio outside Surat. Rooms full of people who have worked with textile for generations and are now cutting it into shapes their grandfathers would not recognise.
Independent designers and small manufacturers who make brilliant clothing and have no way to put it in front of you. We go looking, we curate hard, we bring it to one place.
